Flower Dream Catcher

Image
A couple of weeks ago I saw a very nice pattern for a doily, but although I made doilies before I really don't know what to do with them. They do not match with the rest of my interior.  But I just wanted to make this one, it looked cute. After some thoughts I made a dreamcatchter from it and honestly, I think it turned out really nice!   www.betweennapsontheporch.net The pattern for the doily I found here ! ~*~ My Lollipop Invitations were featured by City of Creative Dreams , Creative Jewish Mom and by Scrapality !  Thanks, Shanice, Sara and Andrea!

Sail 2015

Image
Last week we had Sail In on Wednesday and Sail Out on Sunday in Amsterdam (capital of The Netherlands, for who has no idea), the biggest nautical event in the world.  I'm not particular fond of boats (sea sickness may have something to do with that), although my father was a sailor before he got children, and made yachts for the rich and famous later in his life, but Tall Ships really impress me.  So I took pictures!  The flagship Stad Amsterdam, The Netherlands MIR, Russia Etoile du Roy, France Goteborg, Sweden Kruzenshtern, Russia ARC Gloria, Colombia ARC Gloria, Colombia Sedov, Russia    De Europa, The Netherlands Alexander von Humboldt II, Germany

Heartbeat

We are renovating again; the bedrooms this time. While I was tidying up and throwing stuff away, I found the french knittting spool of my daughter and thought some time about what I could make with that. Honestly, I could think of nothing, until I found one left over card from a set of postcards with colored wire I made a couple of months ago and than it popped into my mind: an ECG of course! How could I not think of this earlier; as an OR nurse I see this almost on a daily basis! Here's the result: And to show you it's really french knitting, here's a close up: www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~ When my daughters still had their summer holidays, I had to think about 'what to do' on a daily basis. One of the blogs I follow is the blog from Alisa Burke and one day she posted a really nice coloring page ( free download here ). Just when I needed it! So we took out our pencils and markers and colored away, the three of us! I just love Alisa's d

Candy Key Chain Treats

Image
My daughter has her birthday this week and as is the practice at her school on the big day the children can bring treats for their class mates. It's more and more a struggle to find something nice and original time and time again, but this year I made Candy Key Chains.  www.betweennapsontheporch.net

Ibiza Style Skirt

Image
This year not sewing a dress, but crocheting a skirt for my daughter's birthday. She says she's too old now for princess dresses, lol! Love that! So, I had to make a 'beachy skirt' for her and it had to be black, the kind she saw when we were on vacation in Menorca. Whatever you want, dear. Here's your skirt.    www.betweennapsontheporch.net The pattern I found here .

Lollipop Invitations

Image
It's august and as you may know by now, in august my oldest has her birthday. Eight, she will become this year. Wow, where did time go... www.betweennapsontheporch.net When making stuff for her birthday, the first thing I always begin with, are the invitations. I didn't really think about a 'theme' this year, but just thought paper lollipops would be nice.  The actual invitation is on the back of the lollipop.

Half Lotus Bunting

I've mentioned this before, but one of my favorite Instagrammers is @kikalite. Not only does she make very nice things with a very steady crochet hand, but she also has a way of displaying her creations so nicely that I immediately want to start crocheting.  This little garland is another creation I saw at her Instagram. It's perfect for my oldest new room (she has this thing with blue and gold). You can find the pattern here .   www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~  My Zucchini Carpaccio was featured this week by Creative Jewish Mom !   Thank you, Sara! ~*~ And my Beach Bag was featured by Scrapality and by Crafts a la Mode !  Thank you, Andrea and Linda!

Ibiza Style Shawl

Image
A while ago I finished a shawl for my daughter. Barbara, who's blogging at Zomaar een Dag , shared a mystery crochet along on her blog and I thought it would be nice to crochet along indeed, because the pattern was beautiful! But for some reason my shawl didn't look like hers at all. What had to be the top wasn't straight, but bend in my shawl, so after several attempts I created my own version of it, but used her idea and her lovely stitches. Love the result anyway! The color, Raspberry Red, was picked by my daughter, whose favorite fruit is..., yes, good guess..., raspberries. Thanks for the great pattern, Barbara!  www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~   This week my Crochet Apple was featured by The Cottage Market and Creative Jewish Mom !! Thanks, Andrea and Sara! And my Summer Top was featured by City of Creative Dreams , by Scrapality , by Fine Craft Guild and by Crafts a la Mode !!  Thank you, Shanice, Andrea, Rose and Linda!
